As a part of Bazooka Gum's new makeover — and first advertising campaign in five years — the company is getting rid of its beloved comic strip.

So while you'll start seeing the gum on the shelves of Target, 7-Eleven, and other stores that haven't stocked it in years, it will be missing your favorite part: corny Bazooka Joe comics.

It was the best of times; it was the worst of times.

Instead, the gum will be wrapped in brainteasers and activities.

Other changes include:

  • A bigger stick of gum. It has grown from 4.5 grams to 6 grams. (For reference, Stride is less than 2 grams.)
  • A new package, created by Goodwin Design Group, that kills the red, white, and blue coloring in favor or bright yellows and pinks that were inspired by graffiti.
